Midland Thanksgiving Day Celebration

Following a tradition as old as the school itself, Midland invites families of current students, Alumni/ae, and friends to spend Thanksgiving on campus. What started in 1932 as Paul Squibb’s desire to celebrate family and community – while avoiding the catching of winter colds and flu that would surely occur if the students were to travel home for a short holiday break and back – has turned into a tremendous feast and homecoming for the far flung Midland community.

Thanksgiving Week Schedule:

Academic classes meet through Wednesday of Thanksgiving week.  On Wednesday afternoon students and faculty transform Stillman Hall into a visual bounty of Fall leaves and local harvest, in preparation for the arrival of guests. Thanksgiving Day begins with Alumni and Alumnae soccer games in the morning and socializing on Kimpton Field. We all gather for an 11:30 am Assembly before the Thanksgiving meal at noon. Student performances follow the meal, and after that, students may leave campus with their families. The parent/family schedule and leave policy for the week will be posted here shortly.
