First Time Back in 73 Years!

Jerry Griggs `39, who was here only one year (1935-36, he thinks!), came back to campus for the first time since leaving in `36.  While he thought he might find his jacket that he left over by the creek, he found instead a school that looks in some ways just like he left it, and in others, markedly different.  "There are girls here," he noted bemusedly.  It was great to see you, Jerry!

Midland's Class of 1999 holds 10-year Reunion

Midland Class of `99 had a great showing for our 10-year reunion this past weekend. We had 11 classmates show up and multiple “significant others” in addition! A few troopers made the trek up Grass Mountain, while others tended to camp at Tank Mesa and prepared a Saturday afternoon BBQ at the soccer field. We had a great time visiting and sharing old stories and overall felt right back at home for a great weekend on campus. ~Katie Thrash `99

Honoring Tom Mone, Class of 1972,
the John Dreyfuss `52 Distinguished Alumnus

Midland graduate Tom Mone '72 received this year's John Dreyfuss '52 Distinguished Alumnus award. He spent the weekend on campus with his wife and sister Christine, herself a pioneer member of Midland's first class of females. In his acceptance speech, Tom spoke about his career in the field of organ donor organizations, as well as his days at Midland. Classmate Michael Williams also spoke, recalling how their teacher David B. Anderson pushed them to think with their heads and feel with their hearts.

Tom accepts the award from Head of School Will Graham; Christine Mone `79 speaks about her brother
