College Placement

A Midland graduate is a high-quality college applicant for a number of reasons. Colleges know that for over 75 years, Midland students have been practicing self-reliance in and out of the classroom, and feel very confident in our students' potential as a college student. Our graduates' GPA's go up an average of .5 in the first year of college, an indication of Midland's academic rigor. Colleges also know that Midland students have been citizens as well as scholars, and have the tools to make their colleges better places. We feel confident in saying that when a college receives an application from a Midland senior, the admissions officer takes notice.

Midland’s Class of 2009 received offers from the following colleges, with the colleges they’re attending* in bold:

A total of 82% (18 of 22) were either accepted to their first choice school or one of their top three choices. In addition, seniors Silviano Valdez, Frances King, and Colin Weaver were all accepted into the Thinking Beyond Borders program.  In two years, five Midland graduates have participated in this intense and highly-competeitive program.
