Experiential Week Solar Project

April 06, 2014

Midland is committed to taking cumulatively consequential steps towards energy self-reliance every year with our Sophomore classes.  Since our pilot project eleven years ago, Midland 10th-graders have installed ten grid-tied solar arrays, one array each spring, These arrays currently meet 30% of campus electricity needs.  In this science-based and mission-aligned project, these Sophomores also explored biogas by building mini biogas digesters.  See photo album and graph.
