On a cold Thursday morning, the ninth graders braved the elements to plant Valley Oak acorns on Drum Flat. Each winter, all Midland students plant and tend to a new round of acorns. The class of 2016 first spent some time in the classroom talking with Lise Goddard about why we plant acorns and the techniques we use to help ensure this crop's success, before heading out to plant a number of acorns in the riparian zone. The group was able to plant a number of acorns in protective tubing, helping to ensure a continued healthy population of Valley Oaks on Midland's property. Click here to view photos.
