Outdoor Learning on the farm, trails, and beach

September 20, 2013
9th graders in Midland 102 left the four walls of the classroom (or three, in the case of Lumber Yard) to work in the open air classroom of the farm.  The students harvested string beans for Thursday night's dinner and tomatillos for Chef Gloria's salsa.  They tasted various tomatoes, watermelon, and peppers.  Next week, they'll begin working on detailed maps of the farm and its Fall crops.  Outdoor Leadership students try stand up paddle boarding at Refugio State Beach and tend trails on Midland's property.  Last week they put the finishing touches on our Front Range Trail.
