CAMPING AT MIDLAND?

Parents, alumni/ae and friends may camp Friday night through Sunday morning. Please let Ranch Manager, Nick Tranmer, know your tent camping plans: ntranmer@midland-school.org

STUDENT LEAVE INFO

During the weekend, students may leave campus with their family after they have checked out with lapmasters. Students may not be off campus overnight at any time.

  • Friday: After dinner assembly to 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Remain on campus for the duration of the day and evening.
  • Sunday: After lunch assembly to 5:45 p.m.

NOTES FOR THE WEEKEND

  • Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
  • Days at Midland are warm and nights are chilly: we recommend blankets and jackets for Saturday night performances and sunscreen and hats for afternoon activities.
  • Remember your water bottles—we will have water stations available for you to refill your bottles.
  • Saturday dress is casual; Sunday dress for students is semi-formal for Chapel and for the Distinguished Alumna/us Award Presentation.

EXPERIENTIAL SATURDAY OFFERINGS

  • Level Up Your Wood Splitting:  Learn how to use wood tools (saws, axes, sledgehammers, wedges), split higher quality wood, and practice fire-building.  An investment in the quality of shower fires, this workshop offers practice in a physical and useful skill.   • Screen print a Midland t-shirt:  Learn screen printing techniques and come away with art you can wear with Midland Pride. John Isaacson, Art Guild
  • Midland Wildflower Walk around The Bowl:  Take a look at this year’s beautiful wildflower projects by 9th graders and learn some flowers yourself with Midland 101 teacher and naturalist on one of Midland’s favorite walks. Lise Goddard, Lumber Yard
  • Fermented Vegetable Making (sauerkraut, kimchi, etc.):  Learn the basics of lacto-fermentation with farm fresh organic Midland produce and take jar home with you. Nick Tranmer, Midland Garden
  • College Q&A:  Join our College Counselor for a morning talk, information exchange, and time to address questions as your child begins the journey towards college. Lynda Cummings, Coffee Tree/College Office
