Mallory McPherson-Wehan joined Midland in 2025 as the Health Director. She brings extensive experience in health promotion, wellbeing education, and outdoor programming, most recently serving 26,000 college students as Assistant Director of Health Promotion & Education at George Washington University. Mallory holds a Bachelor’s in Political Communication, a Master’s in Public Health, and a Graduate Certificate in Organizational Learning and Leadership from GW, along with certifications as a personal trainer, health coach, yoga instructor, and Wilderness First Aider.

Originally from Ventura, California, Mallory is passionate about helping students develop skills in advocacy and reflection—whether in a classroom, on the trail, or through interpersonal communication. She has led everything from university outdoor education trips to large-scale health initiatives, always with an eye toward connection, equity, and joy. Outside of work, Mallory can be found running local trails, climbing with friends, reading fiction, or baking banana bread. She lives with her husband, Ryan, and their adventurous dog, Fitz, and is excited to explore the Central Coast’s mountains, beaches, and coffee shops.
