Leah originally joined the Midland community as a student due to the school’s alignment with her own love of nature and adventure. As a student, Leah learned Spanish for the first time, made lifelong connections, and served as school prefect her senior year. She graduated from Wellesley with a double major in Spanish and Sociology and continued her studies with a Master’s in Equity and Social Justice in Education. Leah’s passion for experiential learning and culturally responsive education led her back to Midland, where she and her partner Matthew are delighted to live.
Leah enjoys listening to music and reading stories from around the world. She values diversity and explores storytelling, identity, and intersectionality in her own academic work. In her free time, she paints with watercolors, walks around new and familiar places, plays piano, sings karaoke on occasion, and visits the ocean. Leah loves the Earth and likes to practice nature journaling as a way to spark curiosity and connect to the pace of the natural world. She also loves to travel, eat, and dance to live music.
