For Bay Area Families
At Midland School, students live their education. Lessons extend beyond the classroom walls as instructors and students explore the frontiers of education together.
Welcome, Bay Area families!
Living your education in Los Olivos, CA
Midland School is a 100% boarding school environment located about a 4-hour drive from San Jose and a 5-hour drive from San Francisco. Our largest contingent of students are from the Bay Area, with about 20 to 30% of newly admitted students calling this area home. Since all our students are boarding students, they share the same experiences and build one tight-knit community.
While many of our Bay Area families never considered boarding before they encountered Midland, they consistently share that our 6-7 week academic cycles followed by a week of vacation have allowed them to stay connected with their children and grow closer during the high school years.
We intentionally connect families who live near each other for the purpose of car-pooling. Santa Barbara airport (SBA) also offers multiple daily flights to SFO, and the school provides transportation to and from the airport and train station in Santa Barbara/Goleta when it’s time for students to arrive or depart for breaks.
The Midland Admissions team will be hosting an informal reception in Marin this fall in addition to attending a number of school fairs and events.
