Jason Burns is a Midland alumnus whose time at the school fostered a strong sense of independence, responsibility, and leadership, including the opportunity to found the Midland Crew team, which rowed on Lake Cachuma. After Midland, Jason attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he met his future wife and graduated with a degree in Global Economics, combining his curiosity about how systems work with a love of travel and lifelong learning. Jason has spent much of his career self-employed across software, finance, real estate, and investing. Grateful for the role Midland played in shaping his path and preparing him for life beyond the classroom, Jason is deeply committed to giving back to the school. As Midland approaches its centennial, he is focused on helping ensure the school’s strength and mission endure for the next 100 years. He currently chairs the Advancement Committee and serves on the Finance, Investment, and Trustees Committees as well as the Strategic Planning Group.
