Tracy moved to the Santa Ynez Valley in the fall of 2006 and since that time has developed a deep love and appreciation for the surrounding landscape and community. She comes to Midland School after spending the past five years working as a surgical/trauma nurse at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Midland’s emphasis on responsibility to community and the environment, and a love for the outdoors align strongly with her own personal values.

Tracy has lived in and travelled to many places, but Crested Butte, Colorado has a special place in her heart. She and her husband own a home there where they spend time outdoors with their two children, teaching them to love the wonders of the environment. Flashback to when she was in school, her favorite subject was science, as it is the basis of nursing, and when she was 10 years old, she wanted to become an archeologist — more specifically, Indiana Jones! There are many causes which Tracy cares about, including the environment, combating racism and sexism, and adequate healthcare access for everyone. She describes herself as friendly, happy and energetic and when she’s not working, she loves to hike, ski, garden and spend time with her family.
