After receiving her Bachelors of Science in Zoology at UC Santa Barbara, Regina worked as a wildlife biologist for over a decade in Santa Barbara County. She conducted a variety of research on the endangered species, including the Western Snowy Plover, and recently completed her Master’s Degree studying plover habitat suitability modeling at University of Southern California Spatial Science and Technology.

During her time as a wildlife biologist, Regina pursued her lifelong dream and passion for horses by becoming a local horse trainer and clinician as a Parelli Natural Horsemanship Instructor. She took a brief break from field biology and accepted a position as ranch manager in northern California where she developed horses, studied Californios style of riding and livestock management. Forever the student of the horse, Regina teaches Midland students foundational natural horsemanship with a focus on horse behavior, ranch activities and always putting the horse first.

Regina continues to work in the capacity of wildlife biology conservation as Midland’s Director of Rangeland Management and Conservation where her unique background blends to contribute to the preservation and stewardship of Midland’s 2,800 acre property.

She also co-teaches in the Science department introducing students to bird watching, local endangered species ecology and GIS map making.

Regina has six much-loved pets: two Vizsla dogs named Milo and Maple, Titus the cat, and three horses: Autumn, Gidget and Summer. Her favorite spots on campus are Drum Flat and Bradley Mesa because of their gorgeous grassland and oak habitats. In her free time, Regina enjoys yoga, hiking, paddle boarding and bird watching (she’s a Falconer and can train hawks and owls out of the wild to hunt with her, and can identify birds by their song). She’s passionate about animal rights, conservation, endangered species protection, and saving our oceans.
