Academics are central to life at Midland, and our curriculum delivers a rigorous, college-preparatory education shaped by depth, skill-building, and intellectual discipline. Learning regularly extends beyond the classroom into the landscape itself, where students test ideas, gather evidence, and refine their thinking through direct application. Our courses intentionally develop writing, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills through sustained work and revision across and between disciplines. Our graduates leave Midland not only prepared for the demands of college but also equipped for thoughtful, capable lives beyond it.

Only at Midland do students live in charming cabins, bring their dog to school, ride horses in the afternoon, pull strawberries warm from the garden, and set out on overnight hikes with friends to cook dinner and fall asleep under the stars. With daily access to 2,860 acres of land, trails, farm, and wilderness, students have the freedom to roam, to try, to linger, and to discover what draws them in. One student might spend a season building trails or learning to horseback ride; another might find themselves in the garden at dusk or walking campus with friends and a trusted laborador retriever.
